Projection effect to enhance a hundred times household curtain to buy four steps
More and more people are buying their own projectors and setting up a home theater at home. After the initial forum and on-the-spot investigation, I believe it is not difficult to choose a projector that meets your own requirements and is cost-effective. Because, after all, under the same budget, the competition is generally no more than five.
However, unlike a TV, the projector also needs a series of speakers, amplifiers and curtains to achieve better results, which is also one of the difficult problems for the projector to popularize. The problem also follows. The choice of projector curtain is the most troublesome for most players, because how to determine the curtain type, installation size and location, and what kind of materials to use are very complicated, and I don't know where to start. Today, I will start from scratch and briefly talk about the selection of home theater curtains.
The first step: the choice of curtain form
In terms of installation mode, the curtain is mainly divided into hanging curtain, bracket curtain, folding curtain and pull curtain. At present, the household is mainly hung, and the hanging is divided into picture frame screen and retractable screen.
The so-called frame screen, as the name implies, the curtain is fixed on the wall like an oil painting. Make a frame like a picture frame out of an aluminum frame, and then snap a spring on the curtain to flatten the curtain. This is the simplest type of screen setup, all you need to do is fix it to the wall. The advantage is that it is flat and much cheaper than the electric cable curtain. The disadvantage is that it can not be collected, easy to be polluted by dust, long-term exposure to the air, easy to oxidize and change color. This is also the biggest disadvantage of this type of screen, because once installed, the position cannot be changed. The fixed installation of the projection screen also has the advantage that it is usually not prone to wrinkles, which can maintain a smooth and flat projection surface. This kind of curtain is suitable for friends who have a dedicated audio-visual room and do not have to put away the curtain at ordinary times.
Another retractable screen can be a manual or electric motor controlled lift (electric curtain). The advantages of manual screen are low price, easy installation, and can be considered when the quality requirements of the screen are not high. The disadvantage is that during long-term use, "V" shaped ripples will appear due to the central pull-down force and other reasons, which will affect the flatness of the screen. Moreover, for home users, it is difficult to ensure that the curtain is placed in the same position every time, thus affecting the picture effect.
The electric curtain is the most common among all kinds of products. It has the advantages of good flatness and easy maintenance. The curtain is evenly lowered from both ends by the motor to ensure that the curtain is not affected by external forces. It has the characteristics of easy lifting and simple installation. It can maintain the flatness of the curtain for a long time and does not produce ripples after long-term use. The biggest disadvantage of this type of screen is the price. It is usually much more expensive than other types of screens, but people are still happy to use this type, after all, it is worth the money.
Electric cable curtain
In the electric curtain we must mention is the electric cable curtain. This kind of screen is the most expensive in the household grade. It is to add a tension line on each side of the electric screen to level the level of the screen, while the upper and lower sides increase the strength with a heavy lower edge of the screen. Of course, its advantages are leveling (the leveling of the cable curtain is very important and requires a lot of tension), and it can be put away, and the structure of the whole curtain is very strong and textured.
The second step: the choice of curtain proportion
There are a variety of screen formats, such as 4:3, 16:9, etc., you can choose according to the purpose of use, special specifications can be customized according to customer requirements. In fact, the choice of curtain ratio is no longer important, because in terms of video signals, most home users are mainly watching movies, so there is no doubt that the 16:9 curtain is chosen.
Some people say that the 16:9 projector will buy the 16:9 screen and the 4:3 projector will buy the 4:3 screen, and the machine will be selected according to the screen, but this is not the case. What proportion of the curtain to buy does not depend on the projector, but depends on the signal format that you usually play most often. This is because as a projector, no matter what proportion of the signal is input, it can be projected normally. If it is mostly used to watch large movies, then 90% of the pictures are 16:9 (although there are many 2.35:1 pictures, it takes 16:9 area to fully display including subtitles), then buy a 16:9 curtain.
In fact, the 4:3 curtain can also display the 16:9 picture, but some areas above and below the picture are empty. The 16:9 screen can also display the 4:3 picture, and the left and right parts of the picture can also be vacated. However, according to the visual habits of ordinary people, the 4:3 screen shows the 16:9 screen in this way is more acceptable.
The third step: the choice of curtain size
First of all, it should be clear that in the formation of home theater, the size and position of the curtain is the first to be considered before all processes. Because both the viewing distance and the display position of the projector can be adjusted later, but the curtain is different, once the size is determined, it cannot be changed.
Some people may say that, if conditions permit, the larger the curtain size, the better. But this sentence should be viewed from two aspects. The first thing to be sure is that the more the picture is, the more shocking the nature is, but if the picture is too large, it will cause the viewer to feel dizzy. So how to determine the size of the curtain? The first thing to be determined is the width of the curtain wall, because for the 16:9 curtain, the width is the only condition that restricts the size of the curtain.
For example, if the wall is 5 meters wide and the width occupied by the main speaker and subwoofer in the 1.5-meter range needs to be deducted, then the maximum picture width is 3.5 meters, and the 16:9 picture is also a 1.778:1 picture. According to the actual width of 3.5 meters, the height is 1.97 meters in proportion, so the size of the picture is 3.5 meters by 1.97 meters, the diagonal distance is 4.02 meters, then it is 158 inches, and according to the size of the finished screen, it is 150 inches.
This is the maximum screen that can be used when the viewing distance is sufficient. However, according to experience and science, the ideal viewing distance should be equivalent to the diagonal of the curtain, that is to say, in the above example, the viewing distance should be about 4 meters. If it is closer, people will inevitably have a sense of vertigo. Therefore, if the viewing distance is not enough, if the viewing distance is used as a reference, the screen size is calculated in reverse.
Since the size of the curtain is determined according to the width of the wall, does the height have no effect on the installation of the curtain? The answer is of course no, because the height of the screen will also affect the viewing experience. Generally, the center of the visual picture is the same height as the eye or the lower 1/3 of the visual picture is the same height as the eye. The lower edge of the curtain is preferably within half a meter of the ground.
The fourth step: the choice of curtain material
With regard to the choice of curtain material, this is the most confusing problem in the market and the most troublesome problem for consumers. At present, the curtain on the market is mainly divided into four categories: soft curtain, glass fiber curtain, white plastic curtain and glass bead curtain.
Soft curtain: The curtain is made in the United States. This PVC material specially used for projection has the best picture quality, the bright sharpness of glass fiber screen and can perform softly, both of which are available. There is also the biggest feature: the soft screen is not a surface coating, but a special imaging PVC with a thickness, which is very rich in three-dimensional sense and transparent in picture quality. Since there is no bottom cloth to support, the material is relatively soft. Therefore, a rope curtain with expansion and leveling effect should be made to make the curtain surface more straight, or a picture frame curtain should be made, and the curtain cloth should be straightened by the spring of the picture frame curtain.
Glass fiber curtain: curtain to the United States of origin for the best. Divided into white glass fiber and gray glass fiber. The fabric is a base fabric woven from glass thread, and the surface layer is coated with PVC material with special projection effect. Due to the support of the fiberglass substrate, it does not need to be flattened, and the natural stretch will be straight. Its biggest advantage is that it can be kept straight under the condition of large temperature difference and climate change. Due to the role of the fiberglass substrate, the gain and contrast are increased. The white screen is brightly colored, and the gray screen can increase the contrast. In the past, the projection equipment is bright enough, and the gray screen will be selected when the contrast is insufficient. At present, most high-definition projection equipment is faithful to the real color, and the new generation of high-definition projection equipment itself has sufficient contrast, so most people will choose white screen. Fiberglass curtains are widely used in high-end screens.
White plastic screen: divided into white screen (also known as white plastic) and gray screen. A base fabric woven from textile threads, with a surface layer coated with a special projection effect of PVC material. Widely used in business and teaching areas.
Glass bead screen: woven into a cloth by textile thread, the surface is coated with glass beads, mainly used to increase the brightness, and the contrast, the angle of view is poor, the picture quality is worse than other curtains. For bright places more. As the commercial and educational projection equipment now has enough lumens of light, the glass bead screen has been used by fewer and fewer people, and even in teaching, the white plastic screen is generally used.
White screen VS gray screen
Many friends asked directly whether it was better to have a white screen or a gray screen. In fact, after reading the above introduction, we already know that it is very general to simply talk about white or gray. Because a variety of materials can make these two colors, and which color to use is determined by the brightness and contrast of the projector. If the contrast is high, you can choose a white screen. And if the brightness is high, recommend the gray screen can fill the shortcoming of insufficient contrast.
curtain in the end how to buy?
After reading the previous four steps, I believe that the vast majority of friends have no longer a headache for the choice of curtain. Let's make a summary here. First of all, for the installation method of the curtain, if the user places the projector in the living room and puts it away when not in use, there is no doubt about choosing an electric curtain. And if the user has their own video room or use in the bedroom, then the picture screen is quite practical.
Next, for the choice of curtain ratio, as a home user can choose 16:9 without hesitation. Next, determine the size of the curtain and the installation position according to the formula mentioned above. The last and most cumbersome is the choice of material.
At present, the curtain market is relatively chaotic, so the curtain produced by each factory is also very different. The surface patterns of various curtains are different, which have a great influence on the performance of the curtain. Although they are all white screens, the degree of whiteness is also different. Some are white and some are yellowish white. There are many kinds of gray curtains, including soft gray curtains and gray plastic ones. The bottom fabric is also different. Even some gray curtains are painted with a layer of gray paint on the white curtain.
So the best way is to avoid behind closed doors, careful analysis, it is best to have a comparison. Here, I 'd like to teach you a good way. Generally, curtain manufacturers have small samples. It is a more reliable way to put all kinds of curtain samples together and directly compare them.

A white screen for showing films. During the silent film period, the screen was coated with luster white pigment, the screen surface was flat, fixed with a permanent screen stand, and erected on the projection table. After the birth of the sound film, due to the need for sound transmission, the use of rubber and plastic materials made of perforated screen. Make the device's behind-the-scenes speakers emit sound through the screen. The size of the screen varies according to the aspect ratio of the film. The early screen aspect ratio was 4:3 (I. e. 1.33:1). With the advent of widescreen movies, the screen aspect ratio increased to 8:3 (I. e., 2.66:1). With the continuous improvement of the wide-screen film technology, the width-to-height ratio of the film is also constantly changing. In order to adapt to this change, cinemas set up wider screens accordingly, and set up black cloth with movable ends according to the needs of showing films of different specifications, so as to cover the screen into a desirable width-to-height ratio specification.
